I began learning meditation and Buddhism from ZenWise in early 2019 and during that year, I picked up various mudras and mantras. Although I intended to establish a daily routine to meditate, it was difficult as there were many excuses not to do it - busy work, family and Netflix.
When COVID-19 happened and we went into shelter-in-place, I found the disruptions as a great way to start something I've wanted to do, such as meditation, intermittent fasting and jogging. These three things have become essential to keep me healthy and sane during the shelter-in-place and I have been sticking to my routines for 8 months now.
With my meditation routine, I focused on one particular practice among the many different practices ZenWise taught. ZenWise also emphasized that I need to practice this for at least 100 days uninterrupted before I would see results; although I felt mental clarity right away and that's why I was motivated to stick to it religiously.
The biggest impact on my health was when I learned that my thyroid gland has become normal from recent blood tests and ultrasound.
?I had been taking medication for hypothyroid for more than 20 years and it had been well controlled for the most part, until last year when I was diagnosed with hyperthyroid; I gathered the stress from busy business schedules had taken a toll on my health. Hyperthyroid is a more severe type of thyroid problem and I have had several issues with the medications.
I am thankful for what I learned from ZenWise which helped me restore a balance in my life and health. It is not a magic bullet but something if you practice religiously, you will see the benefit.
